After days of speculation, there was confirmation on the Playfish forums today that twelve mystery items were removed from the expensive (gold) mystery boxes. Here’s the confirmed list of removed mystery items:
- Colourful Guitar
- Gold Royal Chandelier
- Lucky Rug
- Ornate Framed Bed
- Owl Doll
- Piano
- Princess Pink Rug
- Red Chili Ristra
- Royal Dining Table
- Shamrock Chair
- Shamrock Hairband
- White Fox Mask
I’m glad that the seasonal St. Patrick’s Day items were removed. They were feeling out of date (and they weren’t very expensive). However, I’m shocked that many of the other beautiful items were removed from the mystery boxes. I love the royal dining table, gold royal chandelier, piano, owl doll, and colorful guitar. The pink princess rug, white fox mask, and chili ristra were cute and pretty. I’m sad that I’ll never find any of them again when opening a box. Another sad point is that many of these items were 999 coin resale items, so the chance of finding an expensive item in the gold box has gone down considerably.
According to a playfish admin, the mystery items can disappear as mysteriously as they appeared, and there is no guarantee how long they will be available. Additionally, Pet Society will not be informing us about the removal of mysterious items in advance. I never felt that the items were mysterious because of how they appeared, since this happens regularly every Thursday or Friday. For me, what’s mysterious about mystery boxes is what you’ll find inside!
