I’ve had a few questions about how to turn the lights on and off in Pet Society, so I thought I’d make a tutorial post on the subject.
When the light switches were first released in Pet Society, they had no function at all. They were just decorations. Recently, functionality was added to the switches, and they actually work to turn the lights on and off in your pet’s home or garden.
To turn the lights on and off, purchase a light switch from the mystery or the DIY shops (don’t ask me why they are sold in the mystery shop!). Here’s a picture of the switches in the mystery shop.

You can place the switch on a wall or on the floor in your pet’s room. If you place the switch on the wall, then click the switch to turn the lights on or off. If you leave the switch on the floor of a room, then your pet can play with the switch and turn the lights on and off on their own.
There are also some new items labeled “luminous,” which will glow in the dark when the lights are turned off. Examples include the new luminous gothic view window in the DIY store and the luminous large string light in the gadget store. It’s important to note that some of the older lights, light fixtures and candles, which are not labeled as “luminous,” do not glow when the lights are turned off, even though they logically should light up.
Here’s an example of how the lights turn on and off and two luminous light string glows.
My pet Momo put some lights and a light switch up in her garden.

After I clicked the switch, Momo turned the lights off, and the luminous strings of lights are glowing.
