I wanted to share Momo’s strategy for finding Pet Society items in mystery boxes with her friends. A few people have asked me questions in comments about how I find items quickly, and I had briefly mentioned that Momo just buys and sells mystery boxes until she finds what she wants. This is precisely what she and I do.
However, over my months of playing, I have more fully developed my method for finding expensive mystery box items. Since my mystery box technique works well for me, I wanted to share it with more details and an example that includes coin calculations. Perhaps my mystery box tips will work for you too!
My strategy hinges on buying expensive (gold) mystery boxes in bulk. I buy six gold mystery boxes at a time. This requires that I have a savings of more than 3,000 coins. I also have a goal for what I am aiming to find. Today, let’s look for one of the gold box mystery items that were released during the last two weeks: the yellow cab, shopping bag, school locker or armillary sphere.
With this goal in mind, I purchased six gold boxes (round 1) and then opened them all. Inside the boxes, I found the charming hearts wallpaper (666 sell back price), shell picture (999), classic jeans (99), samurai helmet (999), dodecahedron lantern (999) and elegant bamboo (333). I didn’t find anything I was aiming to find, so I’ll sell all six items back. Let’s add the loss for buying the six boxes with the profit from selling all six items: -3000+666+999+99+999+999+333 coins = 1095 coins. Overall, in round 1, Momo had a total profit of 1095 coins. Momo was lucky this time!

Since Momo didn’t find anything she was looking for in round 1, let’s try again and buy a second set of six gold mystery boxes (round 2). As Momo opened her second box in round 2, she found the school locker she was searching for. All of the items we found in this round are listed below in the table with their sell-back values. Here in round 2, we ended up with a total loss of 1221 coins (this would have been only a loss of 222 coins if we sold back the school locker for 999 coins). Overall, the net total of rounds 1 and 2 is = 1095 – 1221 coins = -126 coins. This means that we spent only 126 coins to find and purchase the school locker. Happily, that’s less than the cost of the mystery box!

It’s needless to say that mystery boxes are a gamble, but I’ve found that by buying in bulk (six gold boxes at a time), I roughly even out my chance of getting cheap, ugly wallpapers/carpets/plants/watches with my chance of finding an item with a sell-back price of 999 coins. That allows me to sell back all the items with roughly no net loss, and gives me the ability to try my chances again. Still, since it’s a gamble, the technique isn’t fail-proof.
In comparison with other tips I’ve seen that suggest friends gifting boxes to one another and opening/refreshing until you find what you want, I think my technique is a lot faster, and there’s no form of cheating taking advantage of the system involved (;)). Another advantage is that my technique works well for a single player who doesn’t have any friends obsessed with the game and willing to trade boxes with them all Friday afternoon.
It’s important to note that my strategy only seems to work with gold mystery boxes. The overall value of items in the purple/blue mystery boxes is much lower, so finding new mystery items in the purple boxes is a bigger risk, and you’re more likely to have an overall loss in coins. I sometimes don’t bother with the purple boxes unless I’m prepared to lose coins.
It’s also important to mention that this isn’t necessarily a fast process, and sometimes you may have to go through many rounds of buying and selling to find a new item.
So those are all of Momo and my mystery box techniques and tips. I hope they help you and your pet find what they are looking for. If you ever try my mystery box technique out, then please let me know what you think. Good luck finding your long-sought for mystery box items!

Hey I know a really easy way to earn money with mystery boxes as long as you have two acconts which I used mine and the one for my business. If you would like to know how it works I’ll let you know and you can try it yourself. It takes time to do but totally worth it.

From what I can see, it’s mostly the people with extremely high paw points (obviously hackers) the ones who always get the items in the mystery boxes.
I’ve bought up to 30 golden boxes in one go (which means many days of collecting coins and being unable to buy anything in the shops…) and there is no way to find any of the good items.
It seems to me that Pet Society is encouraging hackers with this attitude of making items so hard to find for most players…

4. Then your Pet Society load again. You’ll find that GMB ! not with your item it still a box !
5. Send it to your second account.
6. Open it on your second account.
‘7. If you found item that you looking for, keep it or click checklist button. if not DONT CLICK ANYTHING ! CLICK THE REFRESH BUTTON !
7. Your pet society will be load again and you’ll find GMB not an item.
8. Open it, if you find anything that you want, keep it and if not REFRESH IT AGAIN UNTIL YOU GET SOMETHING THAT YOU WANT !
REMEMBER FOR NOT CLICK ANYTHING IF YOU DONT FOUND ITEM THAT YOU LOOKING FOR ! IF YOU CLICK SOMETHING EXCEPT REFRESH BUTTON, YOU FAILED .

hey i got my own trick
see, in mine, u need 2 accounts
buy a lot of mystery boxes from ur 2nd account and send ‘em to ur original account.
when u get the gift, open it, take the mystery box from ur chest, and see the item.
if it’s bad, then reload the page, just don’t do anything that can make it auto-save.
after u reload it, u’ll see the gifts got reset and u can try finding stuff again.
try it, it works most of the time ^^

TO me they never reloaded, so I buy lots and lots of mystery boxes, open them in my account, and if they’re not worth 999 or if they aren’t interesting (4 me), I gift the boxes to the other account and re-open them! if the prize isn’t cool, re-gift them again to myself, and re-open… once, and again, and again…
It’s really boring cos it keeps me going from one account to the other…
And, for the Eco Prizes, if I don’t like the prize I get, just reload as the trick L.O.L said, and recyclate anyhing, whichever its value is. That makes the prize to change, I claim it again, and… Hope for it to be something cool!!!

Jackie, keep your pet well-fed and dirty. Then go from room to room. Usually my pet seems to want to poop when it enters a new room. You can only have three regular poos of your own, and a total of three gold poos and one rainbow poo.

Loved it! heheh. i only had about 3,000 + but i spent it anyway buying by 4 or 3 when i could. (just a few minutes ago) i got the locker, the cab and the owl. but i was aiming for the cat and the coffin bookshelves so that sucked.
the downside is, this is the only time i’ve gambled on mystery boxes and i got HEAPS that i wanted (like the sheep doll, squirty ??, and the monkey. so i didn’t get back ALL the money i could from the items. hahah.)

i use the refresh technique too 2 get really good things 4 my pet’s house. but if playfish wont allow it the ff are my suggestions :
1. GMB – should only contain items with resale value starting from 333 to 999!
2. BMB – from 166 to 333/666
3. RMB – never mind, but that is the idea!
I just got a simple old school stool on a GMB, imagine that?!@$$##^%$#
i hope they can accommodate this request..

My technique just has to do with probability and nothing to do with the glitch. It should still work. Of course, once in a while, bad luck is to be expected, but you can definitely look through a lot of boxes and find new items using my technique without drastically losing money.

Genet, yes there is a reason. In my year of playing, six boxes works out best for me. I have tried more and less. I’ve found that lower numbers of boxes don’t work out as well for me, and higher numbers are too hard to keep track of in my memory to sell back.

Look about the mystery boxes; What i do is open the box,see what is the item ,try it in my house and refresh (reload) the page.Sometimes it is the same on again and again And if it is the same gift, i wait ’til next day and find another gift!!!!!!!

There’s an even better way to make money using mystery packs, without losing a cent! When you log into PS, put your broswer in the “Work offline” mode. Go to the mystery store and buy a mystery pack. Open it, and if you can’t sell it for a profit,refresh your broswer. Recconnect to the internet. You’ll find that you haven’t lost any money.
Try again to find a 999 item. When you find something you can sell for a pofit, do so, recconect, and save.
IF you use internet explorer, the “work offline” button should be on the right-hand side in the Tools folder. When your browser is in this mode, nothing that happens is auto-saved in pet society. Therefor, if you buy a mystery pack and don’t like the item in it, just refresh the page and try again. You didn’t lose any money!

Hi Merve, I’m not sure what to advice you. The strategy works well for me.
You can also get good deals when you buy 1 of each of the Mystery Boxes at the same time. It usually works for me. Like just now i got:
$50 Cheap: Oak floor boards= $49 back
$200 Regular: Hibiscus surfboard deco= $333 back
$500 Expensive: Dark Owl doll= $999 back (but I kept it because I think it’ll be hard to get again!)
I’m trying to collect all the dolls, or at least some of them!

Chloe, Playfish doesn’t remove mystery items very often, so you should still be able to find the items. The only recently removed items were the Halloween items. All of the other recent additions to the boxes should still be available.
how do u make coins easy? the surveys arnt free even when it says they are and my mom told me not to A give them my cell number B sign up for anything/install stuff and D im not alowd to spend my money on things that can get hacked
I don’t ever do the surveys. I don’t want to get viruses or spam. I just play the lottery, visit friends, run races, grow things in the garden and sell them…just the regular things in the game.

I see new items at midnight GMT (7 pm my time) every Sunday.
mine i see new things every monday and i usually receive the gift from the calendar at around 12 noon to 4 pm

cheap mystery boxes should also be applied woth new items
I agree, the cheap mystery boxes really do need some new items.
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this already but, the GMBs are beginning to be a HUGE RIP OFF!!! I’ve been getting items that are worth a lot less than what I payed!!

Yes, the chance of getting a 999 item is lower now I think.

Is it just me or do the mystery box give out cheaper items these days? I was much much luckier with bulk-buying last month compared to last week.
Perhaps Pet Society lowered the odds of getting 999 items?
Pet Society removed a lot of the expensive items and junk and then added a lot of new junk, so it may have shifted the odds a bit. I haven’t noticed a major change, though I haven’t been buying too many mystery boxes lately.
My trick for getting more mistery box items is to create a new facebook profile, then I can buy stuff and just gift it to my normal profile ( when you start a new pet society game you can get about 4000 coins if you win some of the trophies and coplete all the tasks) you can also send yourself flower seeds which is very clever because when you grow and sell them you get all the money and paw points too!
It’s not realy hacking cause actually your even helping pet society by doing this because like this they get more players.)
Hey! I know a new trick (which is very rare)! If you got a GMB in a GMB, or whatever, you can actually use the Refresh Trick!

There’s a new item in the red mystery box, it’s called: Red Heart Wall Sticker, and apparently the V-DAY GMB items are now a profit of $999 just like they should be!
According to the Pet Society News Blog! and the V-DAY PMB items should be a profit of $333 just like THEY should be!
