Pet Society Mystery informed me that there’s a new flower that we can grow from the flower seeds. Now there’s a possibility of growing waratah flowers, which are native flowers of Australia.

There’s a new feature in Pet Society to receive bonus coins. After you spin the lottery wheel, you’ll have the opportunity to send 50 bonus coins to your friends. Unfortunately, you have to “share” the coins by posting about them on your facebook wall. The first five friends who click on your facebook wall message will receive 50 coins each.
I don’t like the idea of posting about the coins on my wall. I wish I could just send the coins to directly to friends in the game. It just seems like another feature to get players to market the game. What do you think?
Here are some stadium sightings of upcoming clothes I saw in the stadium today. Looks like there are Australian and Scottish items next week. Australia Day is January 26th. There are a bunch of yellow shirts out this week that Playfish made for a player named kacheek who’s asked for a yellow shirt for her boy pet named Tristan for months (and had a ton of support from others who hoped for colorful choices for boy pets!).

Four new Pet Society mystery items were released today in Pet Society. An Aboriginal Teddy and Dame’s Sunnies were added to the gold boxes, and Sunscreen Decor was added to the purple boxes. There’s also a new item in the cheap red mystery boxes! It’s a Yellow Hoodie. Do you think someone at Playfish saw my post that about the Cheap Mystery Boxes being neglected?

Last week, cleaning and brushing pets by hand became twice as profitable (from 2 coins to 4 coins for each increase in hygiene or happiness). While that update was great, our pets levels fell off far more rapidly while we were offline, so most of us had to feed our pets more often and waste our new coins on food.
During today’s update, cleaning and brushing your pet, or another pet in your neighborhood or in the cafe, gives you 10 coins for each increase in hygiene or happiness! That means, if you meet a pet with 0% hygiene and 0% happiness, cleaning and petting it will give you a total of 140 coins! If you clean your neighbor’s pet, save the game, and log in again, the pet will be dirty and unhappy again. This can be a great new source of income. 
While opening mystery boxes just now, I was annoyed by the changes to the Pet Society interface. There’s a new lime green “share button,” under the ugly bracelet I just got. Along with that, the “skip” button is greyed out, so that you’re far more tempted to “share” than “skip,” even if you want to hit skip. I don’t like sharing my Pet Society activities with friends who don’t play the game. On top of that, I have no interest in sharing with anyone that I opened a gold box and got an ugly bracelet. :p I give a huge thumbs down to this new intrusive interface change.
What do you all think of the new Pet Society “share” and “skip” buttons? Has anyone pressed the green button by accident? I’m sure I will press it unintentionally; it’s only a matter of time.
The Mayor sent out a letter today that if $100,000 in donations are received through the Pet Society/Mercy Corps donation site to help the people of Haiti, Pet Society will give everyone a special thank you gift.
My husband and I made a donation to the Red Cross after the devastating earthquake took place. Hope everyone helps in any way they can through any organization that can provide help!
