Sunny and Tisss commented that their petlings ate special foods that were out on display (while playing the game), so I wanted to share their warnings with everyone. If you have a petling, then please be careful to keep him or her in a room that doesn’t have special foods that you’ve been saving or displaying. Keeping your food on a table or shelf ensures that it’s safe from your pet, but the petlings can jump on tables, chairs, shelves, etc. and manage to eat foods kept just about anywhere. I haven’t experienced this myself, and I really don’t want to!

Yes, it was a Halloween 2009 food, and it’s not in the shops anymore.
i dont have any kind of food in my living room(thats where my petling is) the only food i have there is the food that my petling eats

Hi! cairo, my food was on a table.
i display the food my petling eats so it ill be ok if it eats the food. but he doesnt seem to mind the food at all. i put my food in a basket on the window. is this why it doesnt get eaten?
Not sure Cairo. Maybe the petlings want you to feed them.
so that’s the reason why my cake disappeared. now i can’t buy it because it is only the cake in january special. T_T

wow i’m glad i decided to keep my petling in a room that only has the foods that it likes (so that i don’t have to go buy it when it’s hungry) instead of in the room where i display my special foods! XD

AWW, I love the new petlings feature!! My puppy just grew up, and he became the cuttest light brown dog, with these fluffy hanging ears and big brown eyes!! I loove him! haha

I’m afraid to leave my food out again then!! And is there any reason why my ocean floor is gone?! It was there two days ago and yesterday, it was gone!

I read on the playfish forum that others had their ocean floor disappear too. I hope Playfish fixes that soon.

Phew mine is in my living room where there’s no food I was almost about to put him in the Rare Items Room where there is a lot of food

I did notice today that my pet came to me to ask for food insted of running everywhere. This makes me happy! 
it seems like when it’s grown you can only feed it the food it specifically asked…? is that true for everyone?
Yes, my petling is only satisfied with he food in the bubble. If I feed it something else, it might eat it, but it’ll still be hungry.
i wasted 220 coins feeding my petling cuz after i buy the food it wants it changes its mind!! :@:@

i fed it whatever i have in the chest (one of their faves)
it would still eat and grow bigger…
now i have all 4 food items at all times (x2 for 2 petlings)

Does the petling eat the food even when it is not hungry?
My petlings only seem to eat when they are hungry, but I’m not positive if they eat at other times too.
If you feed a friend’s petling, will the pet not run away, even if the owner won’t feed it? I only use computers on weekdays, so I hope my petling won’t run away. Will it affect my petling?

I don’t think you can feed a friend’s petling. I hope your petling doesn’t run away. If it does, you will have to pay coins to get it back.
If you leave your petling in a room full of the food it likes for a week, will it run away?
Someone else asked this too, and I’m not sure if it will work or not. Let me know if you try and it does work.

Hey PSG!! You see, I am a student….And I am sure I can only open it on weekends… Can I just place the food on the room I placed my dog in so I can lessen the likeliness that my dog will run away?? That way, my dog can just eat the food whenever she’s hungry….Can I do that?? Thanks….

I’m glad my blog helps. You can try leaving food out, but I’m not sure if your pet will eat it while you’re gone. If you’re pet runs away, I read that you can pay to retrieve it. If I learn anything more, I’ll post. I think the feeding timeline is a problem for many people. I hope Playfish lowers the feeding requirement.

My petling is so stubborn! When i gave my dog a Sushi, he actually rejected and insisted on eating a bone!!!

my pet’s pet ran away while i was too busy to log in…so i had to pay 200 to find it back …..==..which made me feel so sorry,
but what bothers me the most is it never asks for food…..no matter how i try to feed it,or put anything on the table..
