Pet Society Easter Egg Decorations April 1, 2010

Did you decorate any Easter eggs in Pet Society? Here are three Easter eggs that Momo and I decorated using the basic eggs available in the mystery shop and decorations from the Easter Egg Mystery Egg machine. I don’t think they turned out that great.

I’d love to see how others have decorated their Easter eggs! I’m sure that many of you have come up with more creative and pretty ways to decorate the basic eggs.  Please share a picture of your Easter eggs in the Pet Society World Flickr Group. If you aren’t a member already, click here for details on how to join and post pictures to the group.

Pet Society has a wide west theme this week. Yee-haw!  There are also Olympic items!

In the garden shop, there’s a flowering cactus as “this week’s special.”  There’s also a petling coyote for sale, along with a red petling bed and a rattan petling bed.

In the DIY store, “this week’s special” is a saloon door.  The “just arrived” items include a saloon wooden fence, shelf, and window, along with a wooden saloon wallpaper and floor.

In the clothing shop, “this week’s specials” are a golden Carnival headdress, white Carnival mask, and a cute cowgirl hat, dress, and boot set. The “just arrived” items include a pink cowgirl hat, dress, and boot set and a brown cowboy hat, shirt, pant, and boot set. (The last pair of boots is black and not brown.  haha)

In the food shop,  “this week’s specials” is cowboy nachos.  There’s also cactus juice for sale.

In the furniture store, “this week’s specials” include Olympic items: a winner shirt, Olympic torch, and an ice skater dress and poster. There are also a sheriff badge decor, “sheriff office” decor, saloon sofa, cowboy lasso, pink wooden bench, and blue wooden mirror.

The last of the “week’s specials” in the furniture store is a wooden trough. The “just arrived” items include a saloon wall unit, table, and chair, a wooden barrel, and a country horse plushie.

In the luxury shop,  “this week’s specials” are a red stagecoach decor (actually, it’s pink!) and cute rocking horse, and the “just arrived” item is a wooden rocking horse.

There’s a new mystery egg machine in the mystery shop.  It’s a “stone age” machine.

In the gadget shop, there’s a saloon chandelier and countdown clock. Also, Playfish has returned the luminous pink heart string is back in the gadget shop.  It was a “just arrived” item that was somehow removed with all of the Valentine’s items last week.

Does your pet want to be a cowboy or Olympian? What do you think of this week’s items? Which ones are your favorites?

I love the figure skating dress and poster. I hope I can save enough for the stagecoach.  It’s so expensive!

Pet Society and Snow White January 14, 2010

The original “Snow White” fairy tale was collected and published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, better known as the Brothers Grimm, in 1812. Titled “Schneewittchen” (in German), or “Little Snow-White,” it’s the story of a girl who escapes being murdered by an huntsman ordered to kill her by her wicked stepmother, the Queen.  In the forest, Snow White befriends seven dwarfs and lives happily until the Queen learns she’s still alive.  The Queen then tries to kill Snow White with a tight corset, a poisoned comb, and lastly a poisoned apple.  Eating the apple puts Snow White in a death-like state. Her friends, the dwarfs, could not bear to bury her in the ground, so instead they placed a glass coffin around her and kept watch over her.  Later, the King’s son sees Snow White and falls in love with her beauty.  He kisses her and the poisoned apple falls from her lips and she awakens.  Of course, after all her troubles, Snow White lived happily ever after.

You can read an English translation of the original “Snow White” fairy tale here. Also, for more on the story of Snow White, check out this Snow White webpage.

Flowers_21 posted a wonderfully creative version of Snow White’s story with her pet in all of the starring roles in the Pet Society World Flickr Group.  I love it!  Check it out.

In 1937, Walt Disney produced an animated picture of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” which was the first full-length animated feature film. In Disney’s version of the fairy tale, the seven dwarfs were given charming and memorable names.

Here’s an image of the seven dwarfs from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” From left to right are Dopey, Sneezy, Bashful, Sleepy, Happy, Grumpy, and Doc.

Do you think the Pet Society Dwarfs 1-7 were based on Walt Disney’s dwarfs?

I think Dwarf 3 is clearly based on Doc.  Even the coloring of his clothing is the same.  I was trying to match some of the others, but I wasn’t quite sure who was who.  What do you think?  Also, are you fan of Snow White story and film?

New Pet Society Items – January 10th January 10, 2010

New Pet Society items were added to the stores today. Remember, there are still a couple days left for the “the biggest ever clearance sale” in the Pet Society shops where 100 items are now 50% off.  The sale lasts until January 13th GMT when the 100 sale items will be removed.

As for the new items, the garden store has a new aero glass fence.

In the DIY store, there’s an aero mezzanine floor and aero glass door open as “this week’s specials.” There’s an aero full length window and aero glass door closed as the “just arrived” items.

In the clothing shop, the “just arrived” items include a bold patterned dress, fashion shades hairband, and black tee with scarf.

The furniture shop, “this week’s specials” are an aqua lola chair, pink elephant toy, stella pouffe and contemporary black armchair.  The “just arrived items” include fuchsia and grey lola chairs, a stella two-seater sofa, stool and love seat, a blue elephant toy, and an Oslo side table and console table.

In the luxury shop, there’s a stella bed set and a contemporary bathroom sink unit and towel decor.

In the mystery shop, there’s a new mystery egg machine with Snow White mystery eggs.

Lastly, in the gadget shop, there’s a purple lola table lamp.

The items are so sleek and some are so enormous.  I’m not sure they fit into Momo’s home.  What do you think of this week’s items?  Is your pet planning to redecorate with the items released this week?

Pet Society Holiday Tree Ornament Mystery Eggs – Updated December 17, 2009

The holiday tree ornament mystery egg machine was updated on Sunday. The machine is located in the garden shop in Pet Society.  The Holiday Tree Ornament mystery eggs and their contents are giftable.  Each egg costs 200 coins. The eggs are “holiday special” items, and they are available for purchase until December 27, 2009.

On Sunday, a note was added to the machine reading “more decorations added!”  At the time, this note was actually false, and many players bought eggs, which turned out to be the old eggs.  Playfish sorted this out and added the new decorations to the mix the next day.  In the bustle of buying snowman and cute clothes, I luckily missed this update until the problem was already fixed and the new items were actually released.

Here’s a picture of the original 15 ornaments that have been available since December 6th:

Here is the second set of 21 decorations that was added on December 13th:

You’ll notice that the labels of the red and blue star bows are reversed.  It’s reminiscent of the mistake in mislabeling the pink and yellow rose and pink and red rose bunches last Valentines Day.  Even after nearly a year these items are still mislabeled.

I wish the ornaments were all released at the same time.  I spent quite a while finding the new ornaments, and got a lot of duplicates from the first set while looking for ornaments in the second set.

Do you like the new ornaments?  Which set of ornaments do you prefer?  Do you have a color theme when you decorate your tree?

Pet Society Snowman Ornament Mystery Eggs December 15, 2009

There’s another new mystery eggs machine in the garden shop in Pet Society. The new machine contains Snowman Ornament mystery eggs. The eggs and their contents are giftable, and they are available for purchase until December 27, 2009.

Each Snowman Ornament mystery egg costs 250 coins.

I managed to find 29 snowman ornaments, which are shown below. I’m not sure if I’m missing any. Let me know if you find any additional decorations.

The snowman decorations items sell back for anywhere between 33 and 216 coins.

One funny thing about the Snowman decorations is that in your inventory, they appear with a Halloween symbol next to them.  It’s amusing, but I wish Playfish would be less sloppy.

Have fun collecting these items and making fun snowman!
